PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that a delegation of Goa officials, led by Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, will travel to Delhi on Monday to meet Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.
The delegation will also include NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar and Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar.
The meeting with the Solicitor General is scheduled ahead of the state’s move to challenge the High Court’s decision concerning the Census Commission of India’s notification.
Sawant said the delegation would discuss the legal aspects of the matter with Mehta before proceeding with the challenge to the High Court’s decision.
The proposed Delhi visit is part of the state government’s efforts to seek legal advice and determine the next course of action in the matter.
