PANAJI: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO) will be celebrating the 83rd Foundation Day of the CSIR on its campus at Dona Paula on September 26, 2024. The event will be held at the NIO auditorium from 09.30 AM to 03.00 PM.
As part of the celebrations, the NIO has invited students and the public all over Goa to be part of the event and get to know more about the scientific endeavors in ocean research being carried out by the institute. The students will get an opportunity to visit an exhibition on marine resources and instruments and view films on ocean sciences. No registration is required for taking part in the event and the students can just walk in.
A lecture on ‘Careers in Oceanography’ will also be delivered on the occasion for the students of standards XI and XII in the auditorium at 12.00 PM.
The CSIR, known for its cutting-edge research and development (R&D) knowledge base in diverse S&T areas, has a dynamic network of 37 national laboratories, 39 outreach centres, one innovation complex, and three units with a pan-India presence. The vision of CSIR is to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of India through innovative and globally competitive science and technology R&D by developing sustainable solutions and capacity building to fulfil the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
