PANAJI: Minister for Archaeology Subhash Phal Dessai informed that department has not initiated the process for geo-referencing cadastral survey maps for locating protected monuments / sites.
“Department has not initiated the process for geo-referencing cadastral survey maps for locating protected monuments / sites,” said Phal Dessai
He further said that department has not identified any site on the basis of geo-referencing cadastral survey maps. This department does not have information about the number of other such sites that exist in Goa.
“However there are 21 protected, monuments / sites listed under Archaeological Survey of India.” he added
Minister this department explores new sites either upon receiving application from general public people andalso upon knowledge.
“This department has initiated the process of notifying new sites as protected Sites /Monuments.” he said
