PANAJI: A show-cause notice has been issued to North Goa Collector Sneha Gitte for neglecting to notify senior disaster management officials of an important State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) meeting that was set for the same day.
Sandip Jacques (IAS), the Revenue Secretary and SDMA Member Secretary, sent out a notice inquiring as to why no action should be taken against her for the error. She has been given seventy-two hours to provide an explanation.
“It has been observed that due notices have not been delivered to important functionaries involved in disaster management such as Principal Chief Engineer (PWD), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Panaji and few other relevant Heads of the Departments,” show cause notice states
The notice also states that it expedient that as Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, North, you ought to have been more cautious in the matter of issuing notices to the relevant officers, as there were many modes of communication including important whatsapp groups and even telephonically, more importantly as the meeting was convened by the Chairman of SDMA/Chief Minister.
