“Government officials are public servants and should work for the betterment of the public,” he added.
Dr. Sawant was speaking after inaugurating the Training workshop at Sankhali on District Mineral Foundation, North Goa, facilitated by Mineral Foundation of Goa in association with the Directorate of Mines and Geology at Sankalim today. The workshop is specially held to sensitised Block Development Officers and V.P. Secretaries.
Addressing the BDOs and Panchayat Secretaries Chief Minister said, these officials have to take government initiatives to the people’s doorstep.
“Government initiates various schemes that have to reach all sections of people. Underlining the work of Swayampurna Mitras, the Chief Minister said and added they have succeeded in knowing and addressing the problems of the people.
The Chief Minister said two major projects are in the pipeline at Pale and Surla villages.
“Government has to use mining pit water for irrigation purposes,” he added.
On occasion were North Goa District Collector Ms Mamu Hage, IAS, Shri Manuel Barretto, Member Secretary, North, Dr Sachin Tendulkar, DMF, CEO, MFG.
