PANAJI: TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane assured that the department would ensure that Eco-sensitive zones are protected while drafting the outline development plans for the planning areas.
In a tweet, Rane said that eco-sensitive areas ecologically vulnerable lands must be protected and that his department will carry out exercises by legally mandated procedures.
“Eco-sensitive zones are ecologically vulnerable lands that must be protected. ODPs must adhere to this fundamental legal principle,” said Rane.
He further said that TCP Dept would carry out exercises by legally mandated procedures, and we will make every effort to prepare merit-based ODPs.
“To ensure no alterations in the Eco-Sensitive areas, a close eye will be kept by the TCP Department,” he added.
The minister said that Prof. Edgar Ribeiro, India’s former Chief Town Planner, was instrumental in the creation of the TCP Act and will be seeking his guidance on the way forward.
“I’ll be calling upon him to seek his guidance on the way forward with regards to my vision for the TCP department,” he added.
