BHOMA: One person was killed and four others sustained serious injuries in a self-accident involving a Karnataka-registered vehicle near Bhoma Temple on Saturday.
According to preliminary information, the vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed, resulting in the death of one occupant on the spot. Four other occupants suffered serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Police and emergency response teams rushed to the accident site and carried out rescue operations. The injured were provided assistance and transported for further treatment.
The accident led to a temporary closure of the Ponda–Panaji road, causing brief disruption to traffic movement in the area. Authorities later restored vehicular movement after clearing the accident site.
Police have initiated necessary legal formalities and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.
