PANAJI: The Goa Police Department has ordered a major reshuffle involving the transfer of over 75 police personnel across the state.
The order, issued by the Office of the Director General of Police at Police Headquarters in Panaji, follows recommendations from the Police Establishment Board and comes into immediate effect.
The first set of transfers includes Police Inspectors (PI) and Police Sub-Inspectors (PSI) across key locations and units.
PI Filomeno L. Costa has been moved from GRP A Coy to TC Fatorda, while PI John A. Fernandes goes from PTS Valpoi to the Security Unit in Panaji. Several PSIs have also been reassigned: Akshay H. Parsekar from Calangute PS to Mopa Airport PS, Amin A. Naik from the Ferro Panaji Detention Centre to CB Ribandar, and Anil D. Polekar from Mandrem PS to Cyber Crime PS. Other notable movements include PSI Arjun S. Gawas being posted to the SB Centre in Mapusa from Mopa Airport, PSI Gautam G. Shetkar from Quepem PS to Curchorem PS, and PSI Rohan R. Nageshkar from Fatorda PS to CB Ribandar.
There has also been a shift in the cybercrime and railway protection units, with officers like PSI Sarvesh R. Sawant moving from Cyber Crime PS to Mandrem PS and PSI Ravi S. Phal being transferred to the SB Centre in Margao.
The second page of the transfer order lists a significant number of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) reassigned to various roles. ASI Viraj K. Dhauskar has been transferred from TC Bicholim to Bicholim PS, while ASI Yogendra S. Garodi and ASI Yogesh R. Gadkar have been posted to the CB Ribandar SIT Land Grabbing unit. LPSI Archana P. Gaonkar and LPSI Pratiksha A. Gaonkar move to SPCR Panaji, while LPSI Vaishnavi V. Chari has been assigned to the SB Centre in Margao.
Several officers have been moved to Panaji’s central police units, including ASIs Adam M. Shaik, Akshay S. Naik Desai, Anand U. Parab, and Arjun V. Gawas.
Officers from field postings in Vasco, Mapusa, Anjuna, and Mormugao have also been reassigned to strategic locations such as Dabolim Airport PS, SPCR Panaji, and various Coy groups. Among the reshuffled personnel are ASIs Arun M. Mandrekar, Ashok V. Naik, Damodar Kharat, Dayanand Y. Devidas, and Deepak N. Godkar. Coastal and airport security also sees major changes, with officers like ASI Jitendra B. Parampaikar and ASI Kalidas S. Dessai shifted to Agacaim PS and TC Colva respectively.
The transfer order reflects the department’s attempt to realign resources, strengthen special task forces, and address operational demands across regions.
With officers now positioned in cybercrime units, SITs, railway protection, and airport security, the reshuffle aims to improve coordination and enhance public safety mechanisms statewide.
All officers have been directed to report to their new postings without delay, and the changes take place with immediate effect.
