CURCHOREM: The parishioners of Guardian Angel church, Curchorem celebrated the 30th anniversary of priesthood of their Parish Priest Fr. Vital Francisco Xavier Miranda at church premises.
Hundreds of parishioners including sisters and members of parish associations were present for the celebration mass held in honour of Fr. Miranda. After the mass he was given red carpet welcome by the parishioners with gratitude and joy
Keeping a very low profile during the celebration Fr. Miranda thanked Archbishop Filip Neri Cardinal Ferrao for giving him the opportunity to serve in the Goa diocese. “This anniversary was a time for me to pause and look back and give thanks to God for the many blessings of priesthood to work in his vineyard for the last 30 years. I am grateful to the Cardinal and to my brother priests and members of the various religious congregations, my family members and my wonderful parishioners including present parishioners for their support and cooperation while doing my duties among them.” said Fr. Miranda
Recently, to mark his 30th anniversary of priesthood a Konkani book written by Edwin Fernandes on the life and work of Fr. Miranda, entitled “Padr Vital Miranda Jivit and Vaur” was released at the hands of President of Dalgado Konknni Akademy (DKA) Celso Fernandes during the felicitation function organised by Kuddchoddem-Sanvordem Konkani Kendr (KSKK) at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium, Curchorem recognizing the work of Fr. Miranda in upliftment of Konkani language.
According to Fr. Miranda, he was born on 3rd November in 1964 at Quepem to late Antonio Miranda and Santana Miranda and said first mass at Milagrosa Chapel, Colva after his ordination in May 1994. Later he worked in many parishes as assistant parish priest and parish priest besides functioning as manager of many diocesan schools.
