PANAJI: Panaji police have detained a 33-year-old person with mental disability for allegedly being responsible for desecrating the cross at Altinho, Panaji.
Police detained Agustin Fernandes and later referred him to IPHB for treatment.
Following an investigation into a complaint made by Pedrito Fernandes, the president of Confrarias Reunidas Da Igreja Immaculate Conception Church in Panaji, the accused—Agustin Fernandes—was placed under arrest.
Religious harmony could be harmed by the occurrence, according to the complainant. A formal complaint was filed under section 295 of the Indian Penal Code.
