CANACONA: Stating the late night and late hours playing loud music and fireworks on Canacona beach shore disturbs students preparing for board exams, and sick people, a resident of Canacona has asked the police to initiate action and stop the same.
In a letter to Canacona Police Inspector Abhay Dhuri, a resident of Canacona informed that it has become difficult for common people to survive their lives due to loud sound pollution and fireworks in beach areas restaurants from Rajbaag-Tarir to Palolem.
Dhuri informed that the ‘XIIth class examination is beginning on Wednesday (15th March 2023); Xth Students are also preparing for their 2nd term board examinations. These students have to study day and night to give their answers to their examinations.
But, they are finding it very disturbing and very difficult to study in the noise pollution caused by the playing of loud music and fireworks in the beach areas.
Similarly, the very survival of sick, mentally-challenged and old people is also a very big question amidst the nightlong sound and air pollution caused by loud music and fireworks during odd hours a late night and wee hours in coastal restaurants and shacks.’
While the 2nd Semester XIIth examinations begin on Wednesday, SSC students are preparing for their examination scheduled from 1st April’23.
In the letter, one of a copy is submitted to Canacona MLA/GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, Dhuri wrote, ‘They are playing their music loudly and doing fireworks at night and at wee hours. Hence, I am kindly requesting all the concerned department Officers/representatives to issue proper instructions to shack/restaurants owners and also requests to take immediate action against this type of activity like playing loud music and doing fireworks at night and during the wee hours, so that students can study well and not get disturbed by any noise and sound pollutions, besides their sick, mentally challenged and old people get proper peace at night hours’.
Besides, Speaker, Dhuri also marked copies to Deputy Collector/SDO of Canacona, Canacona Mamlatdar/ Executive Magistrate, for necessary action, Dy. SP (South) to issue instructions to concerned officers and Canacona Fire Station officer for necessary action.
