PONDA: Local demands to clear Electric pole at middle of Ponda road.
The Locals in Ponda City as well as Villagers of Kavlem besides villagers from four surrounding Panchayats has express concern over hot mix carepting of Ponda- Kavlem road without clearing two dangerous electricity poles leaving them as it in middle of recently hotmixed road. Locals demanded to clear them immediately.
Kishan Naik said this may invite accidents. He said seven years after hotmix is done in Ponda as roads were in bad state due to sewerage work but sadly safety issues neglected and electricity poles on road are not removed while doing hotmix carpeting.
Dilip Naik convenor of Goa Road Safety Forum said as roads became smooth and wide the vehicles are speeding and those driving in rash manner who some times overtakes from Right as well as left may hit this two poles. Among this one located near PWD Daag Ponda and another near Ponda Civil Court. Fearing accident he urged authorities including Goa Electricity Department to shift the two Electric pole at side of road to avoid untoward incidents on road.
