PERNEM: A Pune native living in Arambol was taken into custody on suspicion of having drugs valued at Rs 86,000.
Pernem SDPO Jivba Dalvi reported that a police team discovered Akash Sancheti (30) in possession of a bag containing 770 grams of ganja and three orange-coloured, 0.6-gram tablets, which are suspected to be narcotic drugs and Ecstasy tablets.
The total value of the items found in the bag was Rs 86,000.
The accused was placed under arrest under the NDPS Act and appeared before the Pernem JMFC, which remanded him to four days of detention by the police.
Under the direction of PI Sachin Lokre, Pernem SDPO Jivba Dalvi, and SP North Akshat Kaushal, additional research is being conducted.
