PANAJI: Rain continued to lash most parts of North Goa all through the day. IMD has downgraded the red colour alert to orange alert in its nowcast.
It has also predicted squally weather with wind speed reaching 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph along and off the Goa coast till August 5 and has advised fisherfolk to not venture into the sea.
The IMD has forecasted Heavy to very heavy rainfall with strong surface winds gusting upto 50 kmph is very likely atisolated places over North Goa and South Goa districts.
The department has predicted squally weather with wind speed reaching 35 KMPH to 45 KMPH gusting to 55 KMPH to prevail along and off Goa coast onAugust 01 till August 05.
The fishermen are advised not to venture along and off the coast.
Quepem in South Goa recorded highest, that is 200 mm of rainfall, followed by Valpoi (North Goa) which registered 174.6 mm rains. Sanguem (South Goa) registered 166.6 mm rainfall and Ponda reported 140 mm rains.
