PANAJI: In a stern move to maintain party discipline and unity, the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has issued a directive to all its official members and office bearers, warning them against engaging with or promoting content that is detrimental to the party’s interests on social media.
The letter, signed by RGP President Manoj Parab, addresses a growing concern within the party regarding members’ social media activities.
It specifically highlights instances where some members have been sharing, liking, or engaging with Facebook posts from opposition parties, individuals, or pages that are anti-RGP or feature content against the party. This behaviour is deemed unacceptable and is seen as undermining the party’s image and unity.
“We urge all members and office bearers to uphold these values and refrain from engaging with or promoting content that is detrimental to the party’s interests,” the letter states. “RGP is a party built on discipline, commitment, and a shared vision for Goa’s progress. Let us work together to ensure that our party grows in the right direction and remains a strong, united force.”
The letter reiterates that any such behaviour in the future will be treated as anti-party activity and will result in strict disciplinary action against those involved. This is not the first time the party has addressed this issue, as it has been a subject of discussion in several meetings, yet some members continue to disregard these guidelines.
“Despite repeated reminders, a few members continue to engage in such activities. This is to reiterate that any such behaviour in the future will be treated as anti-party activity, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against those involved,” the letter emphasizes.
The RGP has been proactive in utilizing social media to connect with the public, share its vision, and highlight its work. However, the party’s strong social media presence also necessitates strict adherence to guidelines to maintain the party’s integrity and unity.
