COMBA: Train operations were temporarily suspended on Friday night following a rickshaw’s collision with an iron bar at the Comba railway crossing in Margao.
When the incident happened, the crossing was being blocked to cars so that the trains could pass. But just as the people working at the manned crossing were about to shut it down, a rickshaw that was trying to cross over struck the iron bar.
Following the incident, the rickshaw remained on the tracks, causing a few trains to stop briefly before rail traffic continued. Automobiles have struck the iron bar at the Comba railway crossing during closures on previous occasions.
