PANAJI: Rosary College, Navelim, St. Xaviers College, Mapusa, .E.S. College, Zuarinagar and Fr. Agnel College, Pilar marched into the quarter-finals of the Goa University’s Men’s Inter Collegiate Football Championship.
At Goa University Ground
In the fifth pre-quarter final match at Goa University Ground, Rosary College, Navelim defeated S.S. Dempo College, Cujira by a score of 2-0. In the first half a goal from Sheldon Fernands, in the 18th minute of the match, put Rosary College in the lead. In the second half, Rosary College doubled their lead in the 55th minute which came from Beckham Dias and booked their seat in the quarterfinals.
In the sixth pre-quarter final match defending Champions St. Xaviers College, Mapusa registered an easy win over St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim 4-0. In the first half goals from Shaviz Khan and Pratik Naik put St. Xaviers College in the lead. In the second half, Shaviz Khan scored another two goals and registered a hat trick of goals in the match and sealed the victory for St. Xavier’s College.
At Rosary College Ground
In the seventh pre-quarter final match, M.E.S. College, Zuarinagar defeated Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda vs. In the first half, Sridora Caculo College scored two goals which were scored by Narendra Naik and Saideep Pomburphekar. In the second half, two goals from Aman Govekar and one from Narendra Naik, registered a victory for Sridora Caculo College.
In the seventh pre-quarter final match, between Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda and M.E.S. College, Zuarinagar went to a tie breaker with a Full-time score of 0-0. The game was finally decided through a tie-breaker in which M.E.S. College, Zuarinagar won by a score 4-2.
In the eighth pre-quarter final match between Fr. Agnel College, Pilar defeated Shree Damodar College, Margao 3-2. In the first half, Shree Damodar College took the lead in the 22 minute which was scored by Nayab Khan. Quickly in the 28th minute Fr. Agnel College equalised which was scored by Shubert Boege. In the second half, Fr. Agnel College took the lead with a goal from Scish Gounso. In the 45th minute, Shree Damodar College equalised which came from Raj Kerkar. The deciding goal from Shubert Boerges registered a quarter-final place for Fr. Agnel College.

The second match of the championship was played at Goa University Ground, where Govt. College. Pernem defeated Mandre College, Mandre by a full-time score of 3-0. Goal scorer for Govt. College. Pernem were Sanjana Naik, Samartha Shirodkar and Siya Pednekar.
