SANGUEM: Sanguem Municipal Council has embraced the IIT project in the area with open arms. Councillors in power and in opposition unanimously welcome the IIT project.
Sanguem Municipal Council took a resolution in favour of the ITI project to be brought in Sanguem and asked to put special efforts into the same informed local MLA and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Faldesai.
Faldessai was attending an ordinary council meeting of the Sanguem municipal council at Sanguem municipality recently when he made this statement.
On this IIT project, all 10 councillors have come together, and even opposition councillors have openly landed their support to the IIT project despite having some differences at the political level.
Faldesai further said that the ITI project will bring different projects and statuses to our constituency. Such a project will generate jobs for all skilled and unskilled Labours, including local businesses, taxi drivers, motorcycle pilots and especially for youth from Sanguem and nearby areas.
Ex-chairperson Rumaldo Fernandes said, “I welcome the decision of our CM Dr Pramod Sawant to support the IIT project in Sanguem, and if IIT comes to Sanguem constituency, then our constituency’s name will shine internationally, which will also help local businesses too.
Chairperson of Sanguem municipality Shweta Naik Tari said from the beginning, my full support was to the IIT project to be brought in Sanguem. Now all our 10 councillors are supporting this project to come in the Sanguem, which will help develop the Sanguem constituency.
Messhu D’costa councillor said that IIT is most welcome in Sanguem, but along with this, local farmers and Sanguekars should be taken into consideration because there should be no issue regarding their land or other things.
