PANAJI: The BJP General Secretary Narendra Sawaikar has slammed the Congress for its manifesto.
“In yet another election jumla, the cash-strapped Congress Party, in its manifesto, promises Rs 6,000 assistance to every poor family, free healthcare and a bunch of lies. A Party that has been involved in gross corruption and scams to fill their personal treasure did nothing for the poor and denied due rights to the backward classes has a habit of making false election promises,” he said.
He said Congress is in an unenviable situation because of a severe financial crunch and organisational disarray. Making such a promise to mislead the people shows this Party fears its embarrassing defeat in the upcoming polls.
“On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), during the last 10 years, has paid full attention to the needs of different sections of the people. From Laadli Laxmi to Griha Aadhar, the BJP fulfilled its election promise and continued with the schemes,” he said.
Sawaikar says the benefit under Griha Aadhar also saw an increase in monthly remuneration time-to-time. The Laadli Laxmi was further extended to girl students for their higher education. In addition to these, BJP also introduced various welfare schemes, which have proved a boon to our Goans.
“Healthcare facilities created by the BJP have been commended across the country. We provide free treatment to the people in government hospitals, and COVID-19 was also a time when free treatment and medicines were rolled out to COVID-19 patients. Deen Dayal Swastya Sewa Yojna is what our Opposition or any regional party thought of. The minority communities are too well handled by the BJP,” he said.
He said Congress should stop its jumps ahead of the polls.
“We urge the people not to fall prey to Congress’s tactics, which is responsible for Goa’s poor financial status while it was in power,” he added.
He said the BJP has tirelessly worked for the welfare of all. Soon after BJP formed the government in 2012, it worked overtime to get Goa’s finances in a sound state. The BJP has executed 95 percent of its promises including financial benefits to the once-neglected sections of the society, without adding any additional burden on the people.
