SATTARI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has cautioned Alvara landholders against selling agricultural land for house construction, warning that such transactions could create difficulties, particularly for buyers. He said agricultural property should not be allowed to be used for residential construction.
Sawant also said initiatives are underway to revive the traditional Puran Sheti practised in Sattari, adding that documents related to the traditional farming system will soon be handed over to the people.
On land rights, the Chief Minister said around 10,000 people have applied for land documents under the Forest Rights Act, of whom 3,500 have received their sanads. Those who are still awaiting their land documents have been advised to contact the Deputy Collector.
