CANACONA: “Whatever we have, we need to share it, give it to the needy society. There is a need for the Shram-Dham concept to serve the people of the nation. Shram-Dham is nothing, but it is a clear and straight-forward road to help the society in need,’ stated Union minister Shripad Naik.
Naik was speaking as the Chief Guest at the Shram-Dham Convention held at Canacona on Saturday after a strong 1000 registered Shram-Dham workers took out a rally from Gaitonde Grounds to the KTC Bus-Stand complex.
Balram Charitable Foundation, a Trust by Ramesh Tawadkar, has launched the Shram-Dham concept to build houses for needy people who cannot afford to build proper roofs over their heads.
Speaker Tawadkar announced the declaration of Ex- Union Minister Suresh Prabhu as the Brand Ambassador of ‘Shram-Dham’, stating the concept should be taken beyond the State of Goa.
A video message from Suresh Prabhu was played for the audience where the former union minister gave his consent for his appointment as Shram Dahm Brand Ambassador and congratulated the Shram-Dham worker for doing great service to the country.
Tawadkar in his speech said, ‘We have begun with the building over 20 Shram-Dham houses in Canacona Constituency alone, and taking up to build a few Shram-Dham houses in Quepem, Sanguem, Dharbondara, Ponda, etc we have already gone State-level. Our aim is to see more and more needy people in our country benefit from our concept, and we appointed Ex-Union Minister Suresh Prabhu as our Brand Ambassador.
A theme Song on Shram-Dham sung by noted singer Laxman Naik is released, while including the Chief Guest and all the Guests on the Dais, all the participants at the Convention took a Pledge vouching support and vowing to stand with Ramesh Tawadkar and his Shram-Dham concept.
Ex-Dy. Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, and Shristhal Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar, were amongst the few who addressed the audiences, while Canaocna BJP Mandal President Vishal Dessai Welcomed, General Secretary Diwakar Pagui proposed a vote of thanks.

Loliem – Polem Sarpanch Nisha Chari, ST Morcha Pradesh President–Prabhakar Gaonkar, SC/ST Commissioner Deepak Karmalkar, ZP Daku Madkaikar, amongst others.
