MAPUSA: Aldona MLA and coordinator for the North Goa Lok Sabha seat, Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira termed the incumbent North Goa member of Parliament Shripad Naik as a “non-performing asset” for his poor performance.
“There is an MP who is a NPA – non-performing asset. He does not talk in Parliament on behalf of Goa. He has been a minister as well. When you are a central minister, the finance of that ministry is in your hands. But he didn’t do anything for Goans, not even in job creation. MPLAD funds are given for small works, not major development. What projects he has to show the people, what kind of ancillary jobs has he created?” he said.
Ferreira urged the voters to vote for Congress candidate Adv Ramakant Khalap, who has a stellar performance as a 6-time MLA, deputy chief minister, opposition leader, MP and Union minister.
“This is the time to send a person to Parliament who will work for the people, not someone who will go for time pass. Where is the acche din? The price of gas cylinders has gone up, there is no sign of the free 3 cylinders. There is no development of the people. It is time to send the sitting MP home. Congress always works for the people,” he said.
