Siolim: The Sarpanch of Village Panchayat Siolim-Marna has filed a complaint against the villagers for for mischievous cancellation of signatures on the Grâmsabha proceeding Book.
The complaint to Anjuna police station says that that the Village Panchayat of Siolim-Marna held its Gramsabha meeting on 28th February 2021.
“After the meeting started the V.P Secretary Subhash Kambli read the minutes of the previous Gramsabha held on 19/1/2020. While reading the proposals some Gramsabha members Udesh Pangam resident of Vaddy and Manny Pereira -Igrej Vaddo-Marna and others joined to object to the signing on the proceeding register informing the Sarpanch that there should be two books one for the signatures of the Gramsabha members tending the meeting and other register to record the resolutions,” the complaint by Sarpanch Monali Pednekar reads.
It further said that after brief discussion the secretary and Sarpanch informed 2021 members that this present procedure has been normal for all gram sabhas.
“Few members were not ready to accept the explanations for which the Secretary and Sarpanch requested gramsabha members to sign their signatures on the proceeding book,” she says.
The complaint added, secretary continued to read the proposals and discussions were taken up, giving an opportunity to all those present to raise their grievances or suggestions.
“When the meeting finally concluded at around 1.45 afternoon. At this time Secretary opened to check the proceeding book for the day’s minutes to be entered. At this time it was noticed that some unknown persons present for the Gramsabha have cancelled the pages which were signed by those present by drawing lines across the signatures,” the complaint says.
The complainant says that such act of indiscipline, mischief of destroying the evidence on the gramsabha proceeding register amounts to destroying of Government records, not allowing a Government servant to record the day’s proceedings minutes of the Gramsabha held on 28th February 2021.
“I Sarpanch Mrs Monali Pednekar along with all Panchas present with VP Secretary hereby request your good office to register an FIR and to investigate this incident that took place at the Gramsabha and take necessary action as per the law at top priority,” she said.
