PANAJI: Smart City CEO Sanjit Rodrigues re-asserted that the road stretch work including the Ribandar-Old Goa route will be completed by the promised specified deadline of May 31, ‘plus or minus a couple of days’.
Rodrigues, met with PWD officials and other stakeholders to review the status of Smart City projects. He sensitized the contractors of the deadline and restated the commitment to finish designated areas by May 31 during the meeting.
Notwithstanding obstacles like elevated water tables and traffic bottlenecks, Rodrigues conveyed assurance regarding the project’s timely completion.
Sanjit Rodrigues also talked about the project’s advancement and difficulties. While acknowledging the challenges, he gave his word that efforts were being made to maintain the current course by the deadline of May 31.
“It is a due challenge to complete the project,” he specified. Work pace was hampered due to election week due to the holiday as well as workers going to their hometowns to vote, he said. Some amount of leeway may be required in in St Inez area, from Caculo Mall to STP plan road. Ribandar to Chimbel road is also a challenge, he added.
Rodrigues emphasized issues like the need to balance work with concrete road curing time and manpower shortages caused by-elections.
In response to questions concerning water waste, Rodrigues explained that the majority of the water pumped out during dewatering was required for building and wasn’t wasted. He underlined how crucial it is for Smart City initiatives to have appropriate drainage systems in place to avoid flooding during monsoon showers.
In response to concerns about the positioning of water pipelines, Rodrigues said that due diligence had been taken to guarantee their separation from sewage chambers. Rodrigues reaffirmed his commitment to finishing the project by the deadline, with the possibility of a small extension if needed, despite obstacles and criticisms.
