PANAJI: The District Administration, South Goa, has initiated the enrollment process for Civil Defence Volunteers to strengthen community participation and improve preparedness for disasters and emergencies.
Civil Defence Volunteers will assist the District Administration and other response agencies in disaster preparedness, emergency response, evacuation, relief operations, public awareness and building community resilience.
Citizens interested in serving the community as Civil Defence Volunteers have been encouraged to enroll and contribute towards strengthening the district’s disaster management and emergency response mechanism.
Enrollment forms will be available at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, South Goa District, and the Offices of the Deputy Collector and SDOs of Salcete, Ponda and Mormugao.
Interested persons can collect the prescribed forms from these offices, fill in the required details and submit the completed forms at the designated office.
The District Administration has appealed to citizens to come forward and participate in the initiative.
