CANACONA: In a effort to bring reconciliation between the Rajbhag-Tarir locals and Management of 5-star hotel Lalit Golf & Spa Resorts, Canacona MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar today mediated between the two warring sides in the presence of Canacona Dy. Collector and Mamlatdar.
Last week, there was a dispute over the road between the Lalit Golf and Spa Resort in Canacona and the local residents of Rajbagh-Tarir, amids a tense atmosphere of ill-feelings and tension all along the Rajbagh-Tarir area due to this dispute.
Canacona MLA and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, besides Deputy Collector of Canacona Madhu Narvekar Madhu Narvekar called on the the hotel management, Shri Mallikarjuna Devalaya president Vithoba Desai and village elders including Ashok Apa Dhuri, Subhash Apa Dhuri, local councillor/ CMC Vice Chairperson Gandesh Madgaonkar at Rajbagh to resolve this dispute.
In the presence of the Speaker, the disputed road and the path in the area of Lalit Golf and Spa Resort at Rajbagh were inspected. After that, a joint meeting was held at the Government Rest House at Sristhal.
In this meeting, the Speaker took a meeting with Ashok Dhuri and Subhash Dhuri, who are doing devotional work at the homes of the Pagi community at Rajbagh and understood their concerns and demand. After that the demand of Mallikarjun temple president Vithoba Desai was heard. After that a meeting was held with the management of Lalit Golf and Spa Resort. General Manager of Resort Ajay Upadhyay, Rocky Kanara, Company Secretary and Legal Advisor Himanshu Pandey, Amit Sharma, and Manoj Dewan were also present.
Speaker Tawadkar after listening to everyone, proposed to keep open the road leading to Devavela and the road leading to the houses of Pagi community including the road leading to the house of Ashok Dhuri and Subhash Dhuri. Also, a proposal was made to the hotel management to widen another side road near Talpona river by about three meters. The said proposal was accepted by the hotel management.
CMC Chief Officer Ramesh Gaonkar, Mamlatdar Manoj Korgaonkar, personal secretary of the Speaker Siddharth Desai, Shri Mallikarjun Temple president Vithoba Desai, village elder Pramod Naik Gaonkar, municipal engineer Dilkush Gaonkar, surveyor of Mamlatdar office Agrasani, and others were present.
