PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the Goa Health Department is dedicated to curbing rise of diabetes in State.
“On this World Diabetes Day, highlighting the theme, “Access to Diabetes Care: Know your risk, Know your response”, in Goa, there have been constant efforts to curb the rise of diabetes in the state,” said Rane in his social media message.
Rane said that with the help of special CDCs set up in the state, efforts are being made to keep the people aware and timely screenings are also conducted.
“The Diabetes Educators in these centres also ensure control of diabetes with routine blood tests. Let’s work towards making the state healthier,” he said.
The Health Minister said Goa Health Department is dedicated to curb the rise of diabetes in the state through timely detection and treatment.
“The Diabetic Barometer project by the DHS Goa closely monitors screening, testing, counseling and treatment adherence for diabetes. It also offers free drugs and diagnostic services at all levels, ensuring essential medications like OHAs and insulins are available at government facilities,” he said.
