PERNEM: Along with other officials, the Goa Sport Minister announced the formation of a special committee made up of Panchayat members, MLAs, sports administrators, and locals to supervise and provide guidance in identifying new talent from remote villages.
Additionally, he guaranteed that the GMR company’s use of the government sports complex will end right away and be made accessible to the community. The vKorgao Sports facility was inspected on Tuesday by officials from the Panchayat body, Govind Gaude, the Minister of Sports, and Pravin Arlekar, the MLA for Pernem.
The minister mentioned the facility, which is operational, and mentioned that the majority of undeveloped talent originates from the rural areas while he was there.
“The people, of the people, and by the people, form the government. Every complex will now have a special committee made up of the local MLA, Sarpanch, sports officials and residents, whose suggestions and ideas will be considered for the upkeep of the pitch. In addition to the venue, the committee will be in charge of producing news players. This committee’s primary goal is to ensure that an increasing number of players are created. He emphasised that recommendations for new coaches, athletic equipment, and other facilities will also be considered in order to develop and nurture more players.
The ground will be finished in the next two months. The Sarpanch conveyed her satisfaction, noting that the completion of this ground had been anxiously anticipated by many, and that residents will have complete access to this amenity in a matter of weeks.
Conversely, the minister of sports has promised that the Pernem sports ground, which the government rented out to the GMR corporation, will be cleared out right away. He added that the GMR group has already received a letter requesting their evacuation from the location within the allotted six months.
