PANAJI: Government has re-constituted a committee to monitor the day-to-day functioning and to oversee all activities related to the forth coming Exposition of sacred relics of St. Francis Xavier at Old Goa to be held from November 21, 2024, to January 05, 2025. The committee comprise of the following members will be named as the “Exposition Secretariat”
“The Exposition Secretariat will liaise with all the govt depts namely Police, Transport, Panchayats, Tourism, PWD, etc. and ensure control and smooth conduct, co-ordination and supervision of all the requirement and arrangements for the Exposition, 2024. It may requisition and avail the services of any authority/ agency/ govt dept and their officials, for the purpose,” reads a government-issued media statement.
Similarly, the High Powered Co-ordination Committee also under the Chairmanship of CM Sawant has 40 members, holding complete powers to decide on the matter and execute related work to enable the smooth conduct of Exposition 2024, subject to the approval of the Cabinet. “All financial and administrative powers relating to execution of any kind of work/ infrastructure facilities and to provide any other facilities as required for the Exposition-2024, will be vested with the Chairman of the Exposition Secretariat and any decision in this respect will be final,” it said.
