PANAJI: Minister for Urban Development Vishwajit Rane said that the state government will restart the Chavane dam by resolving the present issues.
Rane this morning held an interactive session with the Minister for WRD Subhash Shirodkar today morning, in the presence of Sourabh Kumar (CCF), Chief Engineer (Irrigation) Badami, Prem Kumar (DCF – North), Vicky, Tejasvini and others.
“We discussed working jointly in the public interest. One such discussion was restarting of the Charavne Dam by taking it to the State Wildlife Board and resolving the present issues,’ said Rane.
He further informed that several projects of the Irrigation Department were also discussed (one in North Goa, two in South Goa) along with projects pertaining to mini reservoirs.
The minister said that a review meeting will be conducted in the next 15 days with the team, and if required, Minister and myself will travel to Delhi to ensure projects are streamlined and fast-tracked.
