PORVORIM: Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate said that State Government would have powers and authority on the areas covered under Port limits under several legislations.
“State Government will have powers and authority on the areas covered under Port limits under several legislations. establishing applicability and jurisdiction of each Section/ Rules can be determined only in the appropriate Courts of Law,” said Monserrate in reply to the house.
She further said that the area reclaimed by Mormugao Port Trust an area of 25.50.38 Sq. Mts Further, as reported by Deputy Collector & SDO, Mormugao Port Trust, Headland Sada, vide application dated 12/07/2016 has requested for resurvey of a reclaimed area admeasuring an area of 5,78,465Sq.mts.
“Notices were issued by the Deputy Collector & SDO, Mormugoa to the Respondent i.e. the Inspector of Survey & Land Records, the Captain of Ports, Panaji and the Government of Goa, through under Secretary (Revenue), since the respondents have given no objection, the order was passed on 17/11/2020 directing the Inspector of Survey & Land Records, Vasco, to re-survey the property of the reclaimed area as per the application and the said matter is fixed for hearing ISLR has to submit the report,” she added.
The Minister said that the matter is presently subjudice before the Court of Deputy Collector & SDO, Mormugao.
