PANAJI: Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho said that the State is ready to welcome investments for non-polluting industries.
“Goa is ready to welcome investments for non-polluting industries.Today NRI Indians are controlling the economy and industrial activities in other countries,” said Godinho
He further said that government will digitise the functioning of his depatment in 6 months’ time, so that everything would be transparent, including the processing of the applications by the Investment Promotion Board.
“We will even digitise all the data of the GIDC pertaining to the transfer of plots as well as change in names,” he added, pointing out, “We want to invite non-polluting industries to Goa in sectors like films, entertainment industry, theme parks and gardens.”
Godinho further said that the GIDC has recently come of age and recovered from the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) muddle.
Later, in an emotional outburst, Godinho said that he is not involved in any scam related to power and that four cases out of five against him have been dismissed.
He also maintained that he has not been accused for any corruption, but a criminal charge was made against him for not going to the Cabinet, in the matter.
Godinho said that Goa which is known for tourism and iron ore worldwide, is now shifting slowly towards digitization and that there is a tremendous scope for us to emerge as one of the biggest logistical Hubs and also for attracting pollution-free Industries in Goa.
