CANACONA: Ramesh Tawadkar’s ambitious Shram-Dham concept under which over 30 houses have been built for the homeless needy people of Canacona is set to receive a further boost as it goes State level to build 7 more houses for the underprivileged people living elsewhere in the State of Goa.
The former railway minister Suresh Prabhu is set to be announced as the Ambassador of the brand ShramDham concept as the Ex-Union Minister’s charisma is expected to further promote the concept to benefit more and more houses to the underprivileged people in the country.
Addressing a press meeting on Thursday evening Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar informed that last year 30 houses were built reaching out to the needy people of Canacona, made a surprising announcement that Ex-Union Minister Suresh Prabhu will be the Ambassador of the Shram-Dham concept.
Prabhu may not be physically available(as he is in Europe), but his name will be announced as the Ambassador at the Shram-Dham Convention to be attended by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on the 1st of June at KTC Bus-Stand.
“Earlier, 1000 Volunteers, whose registration will be completed by 25th May will take out a Rally at Chaudi Town before making the historic announcement. A song on the Shram-Dhram slogan will also be unveiled at the Convention, besides volunteers willingly joining the Shram-Dham membership from Quepem, Sanguem, Sanvordem and Ponda constituencies will be an added attraction,” he said.
Tawadkar informed the Shram-Dham concept of The Balram Charitable Foundation, a Trust that will consist of three-tier (Category)membership registrations for the future workability of the concept.
The 1st Category of membership registrations will have Executive Members (Who will work on Finances and Technical Support), the 2nd type of membership will be of those members who will take the tasks ahead and the 3rd type of membership will consist of people who will physically participate/work in the execution process..
According to Tawadkar, even though a number of House -buildings under the Shram-Dham concept are in the advanced stage and keys of these houses will be handed over by 27th July, 7 more houses under the Shram-Dham scheme will be built in Priol Constituency.
“The foundations are being laid for two of the houses at Priol by 25th May along with one (1) house at Malcarene and Netravali (Sanguem), foundations for three more houses will be laid on Sunday. Poor and needy people of Quepem, Sanguem, Sanvordem and Ponda constituencies who cannot afford a decent house on their own will be built and given through the Shram-Dham scheme.” informed Tawadkar.
