CANACONA – Continuing the pressure to hasten the commencement of works at the accident-prone Karmalghat section, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar directed Secretary (PWD) to take up the matter on War-Footing.
Tawadkar convened a meeting with the Secretary (PWD) Gupta along with PWD EE D Kamat and other Officers at the Speakers Chamber on Thursday to discuss the Karmalghat road widening issue.
The Speaker directed the Secretary and his officials to take up the work on war footing to complete the 4- lane Highway at the earliest.
He also directed to call the meeting with PCF and his officers to resolve the issue of obtaining NOC of cutting forest trees in the acquired area.
Speaker is learnt to have further directed EE Kamat to take immediate action of road widening of narrow roads where maximum accidents are taking place these days. Both have reportedly assured of taking up the works immediately.
The meeting was attended by Anand Vaghurmekar, Pagui (Retd) AE and others.
