The Taxi Owners Association on Thursday filed a complaint with the Porvorim Police station against a person named Adolf Pinto for using abusing and slang against the taxi operators on social media.
Taxi drivers, from all over Goa came together and headed towards Porvorim police station.
The taxi owners aid that Adolf Pinto used abusive and offensive language against the Taxi drivers on Social Media.
The taxi operators said that due to the extension of pandemic the taxi owners and drivers are facing lot of issues to earn their bread.
“We addressed a press conference yesterday as we could not pay the loan installments of our vehicles to the bank due to pandemic and lockdown. We requested the CM to look into the matter and ask the banks to allow them some relief,” the operators said.
This press conference video was posted on the associations media page, where Adolf Pinto commented used offensive language about the taxi drivers, which hurt the sentiments of the Taxi drivers.
“Horrible things were said to our leader Mogambo, which has hurt and we have come together to file complaint against Adolf Pinto,” said one of the taxi driver.
“There are some cab aggregator who are doing these things to defame us” he added.
“When last time govt had launched Goa miles, all of us had opposed the idea as this business is the only bread and butter we have. But since then many people, cab aggregators, have been defaming us. Their only motto behind this is to take over our taxi business” said another.
“Adolf Pinto should have thought 10 times before commenting such things regarding us, we have never even thought of drug dealing, prostitution or any of such things, but still we are facing such comments from people like Adolf Pinto who must have never used taxi in his entire life. Porvorim Police Station PI and entire police staff has assured us that they will do justice to us” said another.
