CALANGUTE: Leader of the Opposition Michael Lobo today said that Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane is targeting him personally, which is not right in politics.
Lobo reacted to the FIR filed against him in the alleged Parra illegal landfilling case.
“TCP minister Vishwjait Rane is personally targetting me, which is not right in politics; I am a businessman before I could become the MLA; He has already filed a case wherein I have shown that land is used for farm purposes,’ said Lobo.
He further said that this is vindictive politics and that he had explained the entire issue to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, but he quiet on the subject.
“Those who are in the opposition are always targeted; it is politics; in regards to ODP, he can do any changes he is the TCP minister,” Lobo said.
Speaking further, Lobo demanded that the government disburse the pending assistance to the beneficiaries of different social welfare schemes, including Griha Aadhaar and Dayanand Social Security Scheme.
“People survive on this “2,500 given by the government, and they buy their medicines and little ration. They are hand-to-mouth people and the majority of them don’t have any other benefits. Some are widows, while some live without the support of any family member. How can you stop these schemes,” he added.
Meanwhile, LoP Lobo said that the government needs to understand people’s pain and reduce the increasing prices. Otherwise the cost of other essential commodities will also rise.
