PANAJI: Minister for Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar said that tender is being finalized for improving the waterway of the Tar/Moira river from Guirim to NH bridge at Tar junction and the preparation of Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) is in progress.
“Tender is being finalized for improving the waterway of the Tar/Moira river from Guirim to NH bridge at Tar junction and the preparation of Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) is in progress,” said Shirodkar
He further said that the amount of Expenditure Sanction is Rs. 41.90 Crores and the time period for carrying out the work is 240 days excluding monsoon.
“To desilt the river from its origin point at Guirim upto NH bridge at Tar junction Mapusa (Ch 0 to 4415 mts) for a length of about 4415 mts. a. Construction of food control/ marginal bunds :- To construct flood embankment bund with earth/moorum on either banks of the river (Ch 0 to 4100 mts) for a length of about 4100 mts. b. Sluice gates/ flap gates at 200 m interval on both the banks (42 nos) are proposed,” he added
Also there will be construction of composite protection walls with concrete and laterite boulder masonry from Ch.2900 mts to 4100 mts (for a length of about 1200 mts).
