VALPOI: The level of Mhadei river has reached dangerous level due to torrential rains in the hilly areas of Sattari taluka.
Currently, a large amount of water has entered into the agriculture areas along the river.
If the rains continue like this, the possibility of closure of Valpo-Ponda Highway cannot be ruled out at night.
It is learned that there were heavy rains in the hilly areas on Wednesday. Due to this, the water level of Mhadei river has risen rapidly.
According to the information received from the Water Resources Department, the water level is currently in danger.
If the rainfall continues like this, there is a danger of water entering the houses, on the river banks.
This does not rule out the possibility of creating a dangerous situation before Sonal, Savarde, Dhamse, Khadki, Khotoda, Guleli, Kankire and Ganje.
Meanwhile, according to the information received, water has entered some agricultural areas, but no damage has been reported so far. However, if the water level rises further, there is no denying the possibility of damage to crops and houses.
