NERUL: Two delivery boys were taken into custody by the police in relation to the theft of items valued at Rs 1.90 lakh from a Nerul apartment.
The defendants have been identified as Nepali natives Mohan Chitar Raj (20) and Birat Zak Bahadur Basnet (23). The incident happened in a Nerul apartment on June 8.
Snehalkumar Patel, the complainant, left the apartment after locking it and moving out of Vadodara, Gujarat. The suspects are said to have entered the apartment by breaking the lock on the door while he was away.
The home was broken into and items worth Rs 1.9 lakh, including two MacBook computers, an Apple Airpod, Nike sneakers, and Rs 25,000 in cash were taken.
CCTV footage revealed that two delivery boys had come to the building.
Porvorim police detained both suspects on June 16 and later arrested them under Section 457 and 380 of IPC. Further investigation is underway under the guidance of Police Inspector Ditendra Naik.
