PANAJI: The coast witnessed six rescues by Drishti’s lifesavers earlier today, four of which were from Anjuna – both double rescues.
The double rescues at Anjuna involved a couple from Guwahati, both in their 30s. The second incident involved a lady from the UK and a male from Bangalore, both 31 years old. The lifesavers rushed into the water and rescued the victims, and brought them ashore.
Meanwhile, there was also a double rescue in Dudhsagar where two males caught up in a rip current had to be retrieved with a surfboard.
The state has witnessed over 80 rescues over the past week.
