OLD GOA: In a major drug bust, Old Goa Police arrested two individuals on Friday evening near the Railway Over Bridge at Mollar, Corlim in Tiswadi, Goa.
The arrests were made following a tip-off about illegal drug possession in the area.
The accused have been identified as Niraj Kumar (38) originally from Haspura, Aurangabad in Bihar and currently residing at a hotel in Marcel, and Upendra Ram (40), a resident of Bicholim, native of Saran Jalapur, Bihar.
Police caught the duo red-handed with a combined 2.035 kilograms of Ganja—1.020 kg with Kumar and 1.015 kg with Ram—valued at approximately Rs. 2.35 lakh.
The seizure was conducted under Panchanama procedures.
Both accused have been taken into custody and further investigations are underway to probe possible links to a larger drug network.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on drug-related activities across the state.
