PONDA: In a horrific accident between a scooter and a modified bike that took today at around 11.30 am at Rathamal -Kapileshwarim, both bike riders were seriously injured.
The scooter rider( GA05 N 3076) received leg fractures while motorcycle rider( GA 02 M 0753 modified bike)
too suffered body injuries.
The scooter rider from Madlem Talaulim was proceeding towards Ponda while the bike rider was coming towards Kapileshwarim, and when they reached Rathamal Kapileshwarim, both vehicles collided with each other and fell on one another. Due to the impact, both riders sustain serious body injuries.
The local Kisan Naik blamed the incomplete sewerage work.
He said the sewerage manholes are not levelled properly, and so to avoid bumpy ride, the vehicles often prefer to avoid the manholes and drives through the wrong side lane resulting in accidents.
Kisan said the government should not wait for the untoward incident and lay hot mix carpet of the road immediately.
