CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have arrested two Jaipur natives who allegedly cheated e-commerce website Amazon by ordering DSLR camera and then returning a different producting and feeling away with the orignal product.
The accused has been identified Lakshay Gupta, aged 20 yrs, a native of 47, Pruthviraj Nagar, Maharani Farm, Durgapura, Jaipur, Rajasthan and Harsh Gupta, aged 20 yrs, a native of H.No A – 57, Sitarampuri, Hida ki Mori, Ward no 71, Jaipur, Rajasthan
As per the police, the accused ordered Canon 90 D DSLR Camera Worth Rs. 1,23,490/- through Amazon online site which was delivered by the delivery agent of the complainant to the above mentioned accused persons.
Further, the above mentioned accused persons placed an exchange/return request of the mentioned Camera with the Amazon site stating ” received different product”.
Accordingly, the exchange/ return product was delivered by the delivery agent of the complainant to the accused no 1 wherein the above mentioned accused persons has returned some other product and fled away from the spot, thereby cheated the complainant’s company to the tune of Rs 1,23,490/.
The accused persons were chased by the complainant alongwith Police Constable Dinesh Morajkar of Calangute PS. The accused persons are arrested in this case and further remanded to 4 days Police custody by JMFC Mapusa.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Rajaram Bhagkar under the supervision of PI Calangute Nolasco Raposo and overall supervision of SDPO Porvorim Shri Gajanand Prabhudesssai and SP North Shri Shobhit Saxena, IPS.
