MAPUSA: Mapusa Police today have arrested two more accused who were absconding in Ahmed Devadi’s brutal assault case.
The accused have been identified as Narayan Bhalekar (brother of RK) and Mutappa @ Sunny Bagappa Nikode were both arrested from Maharashtra.
Ahmed Devadi (30), a victim of a brutal assault on May 30 in Mapusa, succumbed to his injuries at Goa Medical College, Bambolim, after 18 days of treatment.
Three suspects, all residents of Khorlim, Mapusa, were taken into custody on the day of the incident by the Mapusa Police: Manthan Chiri (24), Sridhar Killedar (26), and Abhishek Pujari (20). Three more suspects were then taken into custody: Sharanbasu Gaikwad (27), Nagaraj Pujari (19), and Boresh Pujari (38).
At first, the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 120 (B), 307, 326, 506 (2), and 34 were the charges that the police had brought.
With Ahmed Devadi’s death, the charges have been amended to include Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
