MUMBAI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis alongwith South Mumbai’s Mahayuti candidate Yamini Jadhav attended the special outreach programme organised by Jain International Organisation.
During the event, the Goa CM launched a scathing attack at Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar on the issues of nationalism.
“Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar doesn’t believe in Ratraprem (love for country) but in santan prem. Uddhav believes in Putra prem (Aaditya Thackeray) and Pawar believes in Putri prem (Supriya Sule). Their entire politics is woven around Santan prem and not about rastra prem or people’s benefit,” Sawant said.
The fourth and fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha election witnessed close contests between several leaders in the state. CM Sawant, however, expressed confidence that BJP will sail through riding on PM Modi’s work and popularity.
“For new and developed India, all communities are with PM Modi. People from all age groups are with the BJP because they have seen the change in last 10 years. Even if close contests expected in the fourth and fifth phases, we are confident that BJP will win,” CM Sawant said.
Goa recorded 75.20 percent turnout during polling across 1,725 booths on Tuesday. North Goa Lok Sabha seat witnessed 76.34 percent while the South Goa parliamentary constituency recorded 73.90 percent, according to the data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
