VADDEM: Oongoing railway track doubling work near the Vadeshwar Damodar Devasthan Temple at Maimollem, Vasco have raised concerns among local residents.
The Residents fear that the project may damage or necessitate the shifting of the temple.
In response, Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar inspected the site and assured the public that the temple would be protected.
He directed railway authorities to demarcate the area and explore shifting the railway track away from the temple to avoid any impact on the religious structure.
Speaking to the media, Salkar emphasized that development should not come at the cost of heritage and religious sentiments.
He assured that further discussions would be held with railway officials to ensure a solution that safeguards both the temple and the infrastructure project.
