Verna police today solved a robbery Case by arresting active robber and associate after sustained efforts.
Police had on January 1 recieved a complaint from an Old lady, resident of Cortalim, that while she was travelling with her son in law along with the infant grandson on a scooter, one person on a bike snatched her gold chain after pushing her wherein she fell down on the road and got serioulsy injured.
Verna Police immediately registered a robbery case u/s 394 IPC (Robbery).
Team led by PI Sherif Jaques and staff Police Constables Nilesh Kaskar, Avind Naik, Ajit Shirodkar Satish Lakade, Sainath Govekar and Muyjaved Khan developed leads and after sustained efforts arrested the accused persons, Hussain Shaikh Raichur age 20 yrs, and Ashpak Kadur age 24 yrs, both r/o New Vaddem, Vasco-Goa.
The accused have been found to be involved in another gold chain snatching case registered last year.
Gold w/Rs 1,00,000/- and scooter used in commission of crime have been recovered.
Further investigation is in progress.
