PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed that during the last three years, the Directorate of Vigilance has initiated disciplinary proceedings in 24 cases, of which 05 proceedings have concluded with penalties being imposed on the delinquent Government Officials.
“During the last 03 years, the Directorate of Vigilance has initiated disciplinary proceedings in 24 cases of which 05 proceedings have concluded with penalties being imposed on the delinquent Government Officials,” said Sawant.
He further said that in the Anti Corruption Branch of the Directorate of Vigilance, FIRs were registered in 17 cases, and during this period, 26 cases are undergoing trial before the Competent Court date.
“As per the details provided by the Institution of Goa Lokayukta, in all 55 cases have been disposed of, for the period 2019 till 31/05/2022,” he added.
Sawant further said that the Directorate of Vigilance is in receipt of 2232 complaints from various Citizens/NGOs / Public Representative against various functionaries of the Government, Government Aided institutions, Government PSE’s/Agencies/Bodies, and Local Body Institutions; of which 1780 complaints have been disposed, and the rest are under various stages of enquiry.
“In 103 cases, disciplinary proceeding were initiated against delinquent Government Officials, and in 93 cases FIR’s have been registered u/s 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 r/w section 120B or 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860,” he added
