FATORDA: After Indoco Remedies, yet another pharma company job advertisement issued in Pune, for recruitments for its Goa plant, has raised eyebrows. Goa Forward Party (GFP) has once again exposed the attitude of pharma companies towards Goans.
“Shutting the door on Goemkars has become a habit for Goa pharma companies. Stop this nonsense. Close on the heels of Indoco Remedies, another company, Encube Ethicals is planning a Walk-in recruitment in Pune for their Goa plant,” said Vijai.
He further said that this is outrageous and condemnable and the very fact that these companies are bold enough to deny employment to Goan youth in their own state shows the Goa government’s indifference towards the job seekers in the state, and their forgiving attitude towards these companies.
“Bring regulation, or create policy, do what must be done to protect the job opportunities that local Goans rightfully deserve,” he added.
Verna-based Pharma firm last evening cancelled the walk-in interview scheduled at Boisar, Mumbai for several openings in the Verna facility following an outcry by opposition over the matter. The firm Indoco Remedies Limited has written to CM Sawant in this regard.
“Due to some unavoidable circumstances & your personal interventions, we are cancelling the above-mentioned Walk-in Interview planned at Boisar, Mumbai Location,” states the letter sent by the company addressed to CM Sawant.
Earlier, the opposition had alleged that the company wanted to deny job opportunities to Goans and had hence planned the interviews outside Goa. They had also sought CM Sawant’s intervention in the matter.
