Panaji: Another Project of the failed Viksit Bharat Model of BJP stands exposed with the corrupt BJP Government compelled to close the corroded Foot Over Bridge at Miramar. What Guarantee is there that the Foot Over Bridge will not collapse in the coming Monsoon? Will Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant take responsibility?, questioned Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panajikar.
Reacting to the decision of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) to shut the Foot Over Bridge at Miramar as it posed Danger to the Commuters and School Children, Amarnath Panajikar blamed the BJP Government for misusing the Public Funds with an eye on Commissions.
@I demand that the Disaster Management Authority should immediately act and take Preventive Measures either by Dismantling the entire Foot Over Bridge or taking concrete steps to ensure the Safety & Security of Commuters and School Children” demanded Amarnath Panajikar.
CCP has announced the Closure of the Foot Bridge which will restrain Pedestrians from using the same. But, who will give the guarantee that the said Bridge will not collapse during the upcoming Monsoon? Will the CCP and the BJP Government take responsibility if some untoward Incident takes place, questioned Amarnath Panajikar.
This Bridge is a classic example of the Projects carried out by the BJP Government without proper application of mind which eventually turns out to be “White Elephants”. The modus operandi of the BJP is to first secure their Commissions and kickbacks from the Consultants and Contractors and later abandon the fate of the Project, stated Amarnath Panajikar.
I have information that the CCP had written to Goa Engineering College in August 2023 to inspect the said Bridge and conduct a Structural Stability Audit of the Foot Over Bridge. It is shocking that the CCP remained in deep slumber for the last nine months despite Goa Engineering College not responding to their request, Amarnath Panajikar said.
People of Goa should realise that all the Projects initiated by the BJP are without proper Planning and done with Sub-Standard Quality. Atal Setu, Miramar Donapaula Road, and Smart City Works are some of the Examples to substantiate my claims, stated Amarnath Panajikar.
